Q. I installed arch linux Xorg and GNOME on my computer, this erased every hint of windows from my computer. I have decided that it is to difficult to do anything on arch, I want to switch back to windows, luckily, I have backed up an install disk onto my external hard drive. How do I use what I have to go back to windows?
A. Borrow somebody's system with a CD/DVD burner and burn the contents from your external drive, pop the CD/DVD into your Arch system, and reboot. Windows will completely wipe the drive. Sorry to hear about your experience. You should have transitioned in small steps. Arch, Gentoo, and BuildFromScratch are custom distros that have very steep learning curves.
What do I need to be able to do for Gentoo?
Q. What should I be able to do/be experienced with before I install Gentoo?
A. Check out these sites --
http://www.gentoo.org/
http://forums.gentoo.org/
http://www.linuxquestions.org/
read as much information as you can find on these and then in Yahoo search, type Gentoo, click go and see if you can find other informative sites.
Last, but definitely not least, be sure that Gentoo is the right distro for you. Go here -

and read the article on choosing a distro. There are links in the article to other sites that can offer help in your search.

Is there a chance of installing Windows Xp/ Ubuntu on a Mac?
Q. I own two computers, one which is a Mac, and the other that runs Windows XP. After a serious problem on my Windows Xp, The only chance I have is Mac. But, is getting harder and harder to get used to the interferance of Mac, and lots of softwares I use daily on Windows.
Is there a clone of Windows for Mac or even Ubuntu? Would be a great favor if you would help me.

A. While I've done research into installing Linux on a PowerPC (older Mac) I've never actually tried it.
Newer versions (>OS X 10.4?) have bootcamp for booting multiple OS's.
I assume people just use grub for the older ones.
The thing you might have trouble with it booting the installation CD, if holding c while booting doesn't work you have to press like 4 buttons to reset some kind of weird Mac internal memory.
Anyway yeah there's no "Mac version" of Ubuntu, people just use the regular version that you use for a PC if that answers your question. If it's an older Mac go with 32 bit instead of 64 bit just to be sure. Distros like Gentoo have PowerPC versions that are optimised to work better on Macs than on PCs but it's not essential.
